Space-saving furniture-buying tips

For many people, space in the home is a real issue. If you're living in a one-bedroom flat, a bedsit, or just a busy home with a large family, for example, conserving space by making clever decisions when it comes to furniture purchasing can really make a difference.
There are many space-saving devices you can employ to make the most of smaller living spaces. A sofa bed is a great piece of space-saving furniture. Used in a guest room or spare room, a sofa bed can be folded up when not in use, and unfolded as a spare bed when friends or family stay overnight. A sofa bed can also be a great solution if you live in a bedsit or one bedroom flat, folding away to make extra space when you're not sleeping in it. Save money by hunting down a bargain in a great value sofa sale, rather than paying full price.
Another great tip for making the most of smaller living spaces is to use under-bed storage. You can find storage to put under beds at extremely low prices; ideal for storing clothes, books or any bric-a-brac out of the way, and thus creating extra space in your home.
If your shoe collection is getting out of hand and taking up too much space then a good solution is to purchase hanging shoe storage that will fit inside your wardrobe and keep your shoes out from under your feet, so to speak!
An additional space-saving device is to get handy and put up some DIY shelves if you don't have enough existing storage in your kitchen. Keeping crockery and pans out of the way as opposed to on work surfaces will instantly make this area of your home feel larger and more spacious.
