Five bedroom trends to try this summer
The warmer weather is slowly but surely making its way into Britain, and whilst some of us are making the most of this time to showcase our t-shirt tans and crack out the barbecues, others are seeing the shift in season as an opportunity to focus on the indoors - namely, decorating our homes.
If you feel that your home is feeling a little sorry for itself and could do with a new lease of summery life, check out these five bedroom trends that are hot for 2015.
Keep it simple with minimalism
We all love to have an excuse to de-clutter, so we'll be pleased to hear that 2014's minimalism trend is very big in 2015. Whether it's getting rid of unnecessary ornaments and accessories or investing in uncomplicated furniture, there's nothing more stylish than simplicity. Check out these great home pieces ideas from Pinterest.
Go hell for leather
This one has made its way over from our wardrobes in the form of pleather skirts into our home décor. Obviously, subtlety is the key when it comes to leather décor, so why not try these brand new leather beds from Bedstar? Not only do they look effortlessly chic, but they also help to keep us warm during the winter months.
Single colour fabric
Just like the aforementioned simplicity in our minimalist bedrooms, another way of increasing versatility in your chamber is to invest in single colour furniture. Consider making your room that extra bit more welcoming with a chair or couch, but make sure it's one colour so as not to mix too many colours or genres. There's a great range of single colour chairs at Amazon.
Try dreamy hues
The bedroom is above all, a place for sleeping, so if you're stuck as to what colour to experiment with this summer, then you could try playing with teal, burgundy or even browns to create that truly relaxing atmosphere. If you want to feel socially responsible, too, try the paint range from Earth Born Paints, which are less damaging to the environment.
Make your bedroom a bright spark
Alternatively, the more quirky of us will want to embrace a different colour palette that is on trend this season: the aptly dubbed 'social brights.' Whether they're pinks or yellows, this can be done tastefully if done right, for example, in light fixtures. These memory balloons from Rockett St George should create the right balance of exciting and tasteful.
